What is Vector Art?

(Illustrator, Freehand, Flash, Corel Draw)

Vectors are any scaleable objects that keeps their proportions and quality when sized up or down.
They're defined as solid objects, and can be moved around in full, or grouped together with other objects.
Vector art consists of creating paths and points.
Vector art is anything created in Illustrator, Freehand, Corel Draw, Flash or other "vector" illustration programs.

What is Raster Art? (PSD, TIF, JPG, GIF, BMP)

Raster art is created in programs like Photoshop and includes photos and scans.
Raster art consists of pixel information, where every pixel is assigned a RGB or CMYK value. This can create smoother and more detailed
images for photos and paintings, but if the image is scaled, the program has to create new information, resulting in a distorted look.

The Most Common Art Problems

(which lead to delays and/or additional charges)

Fonts
Though we maintain a large library of fonts, there are so many fonts no one can have them all. If our library does not include a specific font you need to use,
we will need the font sent to us either by email or on disc.

Web Art
We cannot use any logos or other art taken from websites. They are simply too small, have low resolution and cannot be used. If that is all that's available to you,
we can recreate the art in the necessary format for an additional charge.

Files resaved in different a format.
When vector art is needed, an Illustrator PDF, EPS or AI VECTOR file is what we will need.
